Using market-leading technology, Piab's suction cups handle the entire packaging process.
Taby, Sweden – State-of-the-art suction cups from Piab are designed to speed up automated vacuum-based packaging lines all the way from empty bag to full pallet. Using specialised cups from Piab, producers are able to open empty bags, grip and hold them securely after they have been filled, erect boxes to place the bags in, then lift the boxes and stack them on pallets.
Compatible with other automated bagging machinery and available in two different sizes, the special bag-opening cup is useful for everything from frozen peas to nuts and bolts. Once the bags are filled, Piab's market-leading and configurable piGRIP® suction cups will hold the bags in a firm grip without damage to either contents or bags. An instant market success, the dual durometer piGRIP® cups are designed with a soft lip that moulds itself around the bag, creating a secure, but not damaging, seal. Their firm bellows provide stability, enabling piGRIP® cups to handle faster robot speeds and acceleration.
Improved stability at higher speeds translates into more productive packaging lines, and Piab's broad range of DURAFLEX® suction cups are renowned for their ability to speed up automated processes and robots. Available in numerous sizes and configurations with an optional number of bellows (1 ½, 2 ½, 4 ½), Piab's suction cups are able to provide just the right combination of stability, hold and height compensation required for each and every application.
Stability provided by the firm bellows, long and soft lips give an excellent seal on corrugated cardboard, leading to higher vacuum and more force. This combination of soft and firm materials makes them ideally suited for high-speed handling and palletizing of large and small cardboard boxes.
From empty bag to full pallet, Piab's suction cups help the packaging industry to achieve optimal speed and productivity, whilst minimising waste.
Established in 1951, Piab designs innovative vacuum solutions that improve the energy-efficiency, productivity, and working environments of vacuum users around the world. As a reliable partner to many of the world's largest manufacturers, Piab develops and manufactures a complete line of vacuum pumps, vacuum accessories, vacuum conveyors and suction cups for a variety of automated material handling and factory automation processes. Piab utilizes COAX®, a completely new dimension in vacuum technology, in many of its original products and solutions. COAX® cartridges are smaller, more energy efficient and more reliable than conventional ejectors, and can be integrated directly into machinery. This allows for the design of a flexible, modular vacuum system. In 2016, Piab completed two strategically important acquisitions, Kenos and Vaculex. Piab is a worldwide organization with subsidiaries and distributors in almost 70 countries. Its headquarters are in Sweden.
