Facilitates suction cup installation to extruded profile
Piab, a leading supplier of industrial vacuum technology, launches a line of mounting elements that offers the user an easy way to install suction cups and accessories at the correct working position without the need for expensive engineering time or sourcing from another supplier.
The complete programme consists of mounting brackets, height adjusters, level compensators and suction cup extensions. The parts are designed to fit together for different sizes and applications.
The mounting brackets are made of steel and suitable to be mounted on extruded aluminum profiles. They can be adjusted horizontally (x-direction) and lock against the extruded profile with two included screws. There are two lengths available.
The height adjusters have a long outer thread with dimensions, that is used to adjust the position of the suction cup up/down (y-direction). By tightening the two threaded locknuts, the height adjuster clamps on the mounting bracket. The height adjusters are hollow with an internal air/vacuum channel.
If the position of the cup needs to be prolonged vertically (y-direction), a suction cup extension can be attached to the height adjuster or level compensator. They are of course hollow with an air/vacuum channel.
Level compensators facilitate the vacuum handling of objects with different heights and the extra-long stroke, available for all sizes, expands the possibility to handle parts with challenging geometries.
The parts are easily mounted on several standard extruded profile systems, not just suitable for one brand of profile. All parts of the same size-category fit perfectly together and thereby create an easy-to-use, compact and flexible/adjustable mounting "assembly kit" for cups. Mounting brackets made of steel will manage dynamic forces over time better than aluminum brackets, thus increasing reliability and accuracy of the end-effector. Key handle on height adjusters and suction cups extension avoids rotation when connecting to vacuum ports will facilitate the installation.
Established in 1951, Piab designs innovative vacuum solutions that improve the energy-efficiency, productivity, and working environments of vacuum users around the world. As a reliable partner to many of the world’s largest manufacturers, Piab develops and manufactures a complete line of vacuum pumps, vacuum accessories, vacuum conveyors and suction cups for a variety of automated material handling and factory automation processes. Piab utilizes COAX®, a completely new dimension in vacuum technology, in many of its original products and solutions. COAX® cartridges are smaller, more energy efficient and more reliable than conventional ejectors, and can be integrated directly into machinery. This allows for the design of a flexible, modular vacuum system. Piab is a worldwide organization with subsidiaries and distributors in more than 50 countries. Its headquarters are in Sweden.
