Piab code of conduct

The Piab code of conduct

A truly successful company creates value based on solid work ethics to their customers, suppliers, partners, owners, employees and society.

General principles

The Piab Group shall:

  • comply with the laws and regulations of each country in which it operates.

  • demonstrate and promote its commitment to responsible business practice in policies, decisions and activities.

  • integrate the principles of this policy into critical processes.

Business principles

Business ethics

We support the UN recommendations of sanctions and restrictions of business activities in the countries that are highlighted by UN.

We support the “Red flag indicators” for US Export control.

Anti-corruption

We create business with legal and ethical methods without accepting any form of extortion or bribes.

Representatives of the Piab Group shall not offer customers, potential customers, suppliers, consultants, governments, agencies of governments, or any representative of such entities, any rewards or benefits in violation of applicable laws or established business practices stricter than applicable laws, in order to obtain or retain business or to gain any other improper advantage.

Piab Group employees shall not accept payments, gifts or other kinds of reimbursement from a third party that could affect or appear to affect their objectivity in their business decisions.

Money laundering

The Piab Group shall not accept, facilitate or support money laundering.

Conflicts of interest

All representatives of the Piab Group shall conduct their private and other external activities and financial interests in a manner that does not conflict or appear to conflict with the interests of the Group.

Employees’ private interests shall not influence, or appear to influence, their judgement or actions in performing their duties as representatives of the Group.

Customer offering

The Piab Group shall ensure that its products meet all applicable regulatory requirements.

The Piab Group shall design its products with a focus on our core values of quality, safety and environmental care.

Marketing and sales

The Piab Group shall present its products and services accurately and shall comply with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.

The Piab Group shall not make false statements or provide misleading information regarding its products or their performance, including the safety and environmental attributes of the products.

Fair competition practises

The Piab Group shall compete in a fair manner and with integrity.

The Piab Group shall not exchange information or enter into agreements or understandings with competitors, customers or suppliers in a way that improperly influences the market place or the outcome of a bidding process.

The Piab Group shall use legitimate methods to gather information about our competitors.

Human rights

We support and shall act in accordance with the United Nations Human Rights www.ohchr.org and Intl. Labour Standards, ILO Convention www.ilo.org.

Non-discrimination

All employees shall have equal opportunities based on competencies, experience and performance regardless of gender, race, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political opinion, union affiliation, social background or ethnic origin.

All employees shall be treated with respect. Discrimination, physical or verbal harassment, or any illegal threats are not tolerated.

Workplace practice

The necessary conditions for a safe and healthy work environment shall be provided for all Piab Group employees.

Forced labour

The Piab Group shall not engage in or support forced, bonded or compulsory labour, nor shall the Piab Group require any form of deposit or confiscate identification papers from employees. Employees are free to leave their employment after reasonable notice as required by law and contract.

Child labour

Child labour is never accepted, neither at Piab nor at business partners. The minimum employment age is the age of completion of compulsory school, but never less than 15 years.

Freedom of association

All employees are free to join, or not to join, trade unions and to bargain collectively. The Piab Group shall respect the recognized unions.

Fair employment conditions

All employees shall have fair and reasonable terms. The Piab Group shall comply with applicable laws and industry standards.

Environmental responsibilities

We shall strive to develop and offer products and services that with high performance contributes to a sustainable world. Our greatest contribution to the environment is selling our energy saving products.

We shall strive to limit emissions of harmful substances and harmful waste. Minimize the use of energy and scarce resources.

We shall always comply with applicable environmental legislation.

Responsibilities for compliance

The Code of conduct is applicable to all Piab operations and to any party that contributes to Piab business activities.

It is the responsibility of all employees to seek information to understand and comply with local laws and the Piab Group code of conduct.

Employees, customers and other partners are expected to report any suspected violations of laws or the Code of conduct to their superior or if that is not appropriate or possible, to any member of the management team.

It is the responsibility of every manager to explain, increase awareness and ensure that our values and Code of conduct are understood and honoured by all employees.

Whistleblower function

If any of our employees or consultants working with us, see or hear of anything that might be a breach or violation of our code of conduct, we ask to be notified. Notification can be done via one or several of the below channels:

Requirements on business partners

The Piab Group encourages its business partners to apply standards of business conduct consistent with the principles of this Code of Conduct.
