Piab introduces the PS series of electronic vacuum sensors and switches, and the Piab Connect app

Piab is expanding its vacuum automation portfolio with the launch of the PS series – a new, broad range of electronic vacuum sensors and switches with modern and safe NFC interface. The series is designed to make vacuum automation more stable, efficient and predictable across industrial applications.
Vacuum sensors and switches are key enablers of modern vacuum-based handling. With the introduction of the PS series, Piab is adding a range of electronic vacuum sensors and switches that complement the existing switch portfolio. The new, future‑ready series fit seamlessly in machinery and on vacuum pumps and gripping solutions. It offers user-friendly interfaces for customization and key diagnostics, making it easier for our customers and partners to find the perfect fit for any application.
Three products designed around real industrial needs
The PS series introduces three products with different key features and functionalities, from simple switching output, analog sensing, and advanced communication:
- PS.VA: analog output for continuous monitoring of vacuum level.
- PS.VS: digital switching output for reliable on/off control, together with analog monitoring output for additional control.
- PS.VSI: IO‑Link connectivity for full integration into modern automation systems.
Across all variants, the compact housings and suitable ports help minimize installation space and enable clean, robust layouts on end‑of‑arm tools and vacuum manifolds. PS.VS and PS.VSI also features a multi-coloured LED, giving the user instant feedback on switching status and system performance directly at the machine.
Piab Connect App - a user‑friendly, modern, and safe interface for customization and key system statistics
The new Piab Connect app enables safe and full customization of settings such as switching points, hysteresis and output modes for PS.VS and PS.VSI through the NFC interface. This significantly shortens commissioning time, especially when setting up multiple switches as it allows you to copy settings from one switch to another. Through the NFC interface of the switches and the app, the user also has access to key statistics such as vacuum cycle counters, simplifying troubleshooting and maintenance.
Across the range, customers benefit from stable measurement performance, robust industrial design and flexible mounting options – making the PS program suitable for applications in packaging, logistics and warehousing, electronics, and general industrial applications.
