PX Suction Cup Family Launches for Demanding Surface Handling
Adaptive sealing, reduced air consumption, and stable grip in industrial environments
PX is a robust suction cup family for reliable handling of rough, patterned, and uneven materials such as stone, sheet metal, structured glass, and wood. A highly adaptable EPDM sealing ring combined with a rigid aluminum support plate and internal support pad delivers a secure grip where standard flat cups struggle—making PX well suited for demanding industrial environments.
The soft sealing ring follows contours and textured surfaces, while the internal support pad stabilizes thin or delicate workpieces and reduces marking. The sealing ring is positively locked into the support plate and can be replaced separately, giving distributors a clear spare-part concept and repeat business on wear items.
PX is also available with an optional integrated cone valve. This function activates the cup only when it contacts the workpiece and automatically shuts off cups that are not covered—for example, outside the lifted object. This secures the lift, significantly reduces air consumption and offers a straightforward energy-saving upgrade for multi-cup and large-area grippers.
With low internal volume for fast evacuation, threaded connections for easy integration, and a range of diameters matching common sizes in stone, metal, glass, and wood handling, PX is easy to specify both for retrofits and new systems. The PX family is available through Piab’s regular sales channels and digital tools, allowing distributors to select standard or cone-valve variants to match customer requirements.
