piCOBOT® L High Payload increases lifting capacity to 35 kg
Introducing the new piCOBOT® L High Payload – the latest performance step in the piCOBOT® Large family. Building on the proven design and reliability of the current PiCOBOT® L, this new version dramatically increases payload capacity from 16 kg to 35 kg, enabling handling of heavier & larger parts without changing the robot’s overall footprint or behaviour.
The new piCOBOT® L High Payload is designed for users who need to handle heavier items without compromising on the intelligence, reliability, and ease of use they already know from PiCOBOT® L. By increasing the payload from 16 kg to 35 kg, it opens up new possibilities in packaging, logistics, assembly, and machine tending where larger parts, multi-picks or more complex tooling are required.
At its core, PiCOBOT® L High Payload builds on Piab’s proven piCOBOT® platform, bringing a full suite of smart vacuum features into a compact, collaborative robot package. Functions like ES Automatic Level Determination (ALD) and Automatic “ES” Condition Monitoring (ACM) help secure consistent gripping performance while providing clear feedback on system status. Automatic Timer Based Blow-off (ATBO) and Intelligent Blow-off (IBO) optimize energy usage and cycle times by precisely controlling release, while Self Adhesion Control (SAC) contributes to safe and reliable handling of a wide range of materials.
Maintenance and configuration remain straightforward. Easy access to COAX® cartridges simplifies inspection and cleaning, reducing downtime and helping maintain peak performance in demanding environments. The configurable foam gripper allows users to tailor the gripping surface to different product shapes and sizes, and integrated check valves in the foam gripper make it possible to pick difficult or partially covered objects while maintaining vacuum in unused zones.
Another new for piCOBOT® L High Payload is support for the ISO 9409 80 interface, enabling direct mounting of a broader selection of robots. This makes mechanical integration easier and faster, especially for applications that require larger end-of-arm tooling to take full advantage of the increased payload.
Apart from the higher payload and new interface, piCOBOT® L High Payload behaves just like the existing PiCOBOT® L – same footprint, same control philosophy, same smart features. This ensures a smooth upgrade path for existing users who want to step up to heavier-duty applications with minimal re-engineering of their cells or processes.
