Kenos® introduces Kenos Cobot Medium (KCM) for flexible, high‑payload cobot handling

Kenos® expands its collaborative vacuum gripping portfolio with the new Kenos Cobot Medium (KCM), a lightweight yet high‑payload gripper optimized for cobot applications.

High payload, low weight – built for cobots

KCM is engineered specifically for collaborative robots where every kilogram of payload capacity matters. Its compact, lightweight design maximizes the available payload for the application. KCM delivers up to 30 kg payload while keeping the gripper weight below 4 kg, making this gripper perfectly suited for tasks such as palletizing, case packing, and end‑of‑line handling.

Modular features and quick‑change options

To meet diverse process and safety requirements, KCM is available with either normally open or normally closed valve configurations, allowing users to select the gripper’s fail‑safe behavior to match their application needs. KCM also support sensor integration for monitoring the vacuum level.

An optional quick changer simplifies mechanical and pneumatic connections to the end effector, supporting rapid tool changes and efficient adaptation; this enables fast changeovers between tasks or product formats and reduces downtime 

Compatibility with Piab Cobot Foam (PCOF)

The Kenos Cobot Medium is designed to be used together with Piab Cobot Foam (PCOF), Piab’s comfigurable foam gripping solution for cobot applications. This combination delivers secure and forgiving handling of a wide variety of packaging types and product geometries. The foam interface helps compensate for minor product variations and tolerances, making the system well suited for mixed palletizing and other dynamic tasks.
