Piab launches piCOBOT® Electric for ABB GoFa
piCOBOT® Electric for ABB GoFa delivers plug-and-play electric vacuum gripping for clean, efficient and flexible cobot cells.
Piab expands its electric cobot portfolio with the launch of piCOBOT® Electric – ABB GoFa, an all-electric vacuum gripping solution developed specifically for ABB GoFa cobots.
By combining electric vacuum generation with a dedicated GoFa interface, the new solution eliminates the need for compressed air — enabling clean, energy-efficient and easy-to-deploy cobot cells for assembly, machine tending, packaging, logistics and warehousing.

Built on the proven piCOBOT® platform, the solution combines a slim, compact design with high precision and versatility. The ABB GoFa configuration includes a dedicated software plug-in, mechanical interface and specified cabling — ensuring fast setup and stable, predictable performance across a wide range of applications.

All-electric vacuum generation
Vacuum is generated using electricity only, eliminating compressed air. This reduces infrastructure requirements, lowers energy consumption and minimizes noise — while enabling installations in environments where compressed air is limited or unavailable.
Optimized for ABB GoFa
Standard ISO mechanical interface, specified cabling and software plug-in ensure smooth integration into the ABB control environment. The result is faster commissioning, consistent operation and simplified diagnostics.
Compact and lightweight design
The slim, low-weight unit preserves GoFa payload and reach. The clean arm layout — without external air tubing — supports free cobot movement and safe collaboration with operators.
Modular gripping flexibility
