Feeding reclaimed or virgin metal powder to a sieve or hopper is usually done manually which is heavily dependent on an operator and exposes the employee to hazardous metals and heavy lifts during the process of 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing.
Moreover, it is hard to ensure that all metal powders are picked-up from the barrel/container which results in the loss of powder, causing an expensive process scrap.
Piab vacuum conveyors can effectively feed the sieve or hopper directly from the original manufacturer barrel/container. For the case that further pre-sieving is needed or metal powder has to be reclaimed from the overflow bin of the 3D printer, the systems is also able to perform these tasks.
These solutions result in a higher level of productivity, avoids product scrap and establishes an ergonomic working environment.
Conveyors can be integrated into portable sieving solutions because of their easy assembly and lightweight, which allows the use of the same conveyor and sieve solution for the printers.
With Piab’s products you can connect the dots within the Additive Manufacturing production line with ease!
