In many cases, customers buying a Fette Compacting tablet press face the problem of moving the tablet powder into the press in an efficient, safe and hygienic way. Since vacuum conveying is not within Fette´s product range, their customers have to find and integrate a solution for transporting the powder themselves. Even when the customer finds Piab vacuum conveyors being the optimal solution for powder transport, there is still the challenge of integrating the two systems together without having dust or powder leak out. The result is a time consuming engineering project which itself adds very little value to the customer.
A collaboration between Fette Compacting GmbH and Piab AB resulted in a range of standard piFLOW® conveyor configurations together with a standard interface between Fette's Compacting tablet press and Piab´s vacuum conveyor. The interface connection was designed with a level sensor as well as an aspiration filter for optimal performance together with the tablet press.
With the range of piFLOW® conveyors from Piab, Fette Compacting GmbH can now offer a turnkey powder transport solution as an option. This turnkey solution guarantees that powder can be transported and discharged into the Fette tablet press without the risk of dust, scrap or interference of the tablet press reliability. Fette Compacting GmbH has verified the conveyor application together with the tablet press to guarantee the overall performance of the system.
The Fette FE55 tablet press together with the Piab conveyor piFLOW® was displayed at the ACHEMA 2012 trade show. Fette Compacting GmbH also won the ACHEMA Innovation award 2012 with the launch of the new FE55 tablet press.
