Editorial Impresora Apolo, owned by Grupo Espinosa, one of the largest Mexican-owned companies in the graphic industry, sought to implement a new vacuum pump solution that would both improve the quality of printing and reduce maintenance costs and downtime.
Apolo installed 208 Classic and Classic MP vacuum pumps from Piab on 33 machines. With a single compressed air station, air is provided to machines and vacuum pumps simultaneously.
The Piab solution eliminated machine downtime from pump failure, and drastically reduced the cost of vacuum pump maintenance. Additionally, the system reduced the temperature in the plant from 37 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius without air conditioning, and cut the noise level by 50%.
