Glass assembly and installation
Windshields, side glass, and back glass are handled by vacuum and fixed with a special adhesive on the vehicle. The thin, fragile and surface sensitive object is handled under high accelerations and short cycle times by industrial robots.
Piab’s suction cups are made with a sturdy and reliable inner support structure with a strong over-seam sealing capability. No marks are left on your products and you will also gain a longer cup lifetime with extra abrasion resistant suction cups, such as our DURAFLEX® cups.
The glass parts are expensive to scrap if parts are lost and are also a safety concern to the nearby operators if a part falls off the tool. Piab has components designed to retain parts if air pressure or power is lost.
