Piab launches piCOBOT® Electric – All-electric vacuum gripping for any cobot brand
Piab introduces piCOBOT® Electric (Standard I/O), an all-electric vacuum gripper compatible with most cobot brands. It eliminates compressed air and simplifies clean, energy-efficient automation.
Piab expands its electric cobot portfolio with the introduction of piCOBOT® Electric (Standard I/O) — an all-electric vacuum gripping solution compatible with a wide range of collaborative robots, independent of brand.
By generating vacuum using electricity only, piCOBOT® Electric eliminates the need for compressed air, simplifying installation and enabling stable, efficient and sustainable cobot applications in assembly, machine tending, packaging, logistics and warehousing.
All-electric vacuum generation
No compressed air required. This reduces infrastructure needs, energy consumption and noise levels, while enabling cobot automation even in locations where compressed air is limited, costly or unavailable.
Brand-independent Standard I/O interface
The unit connects to the cobot via a universal Standard I/O interface. This enables smooth integration with most major cobot platforms and supports fast commissioning, easy programming and straightforward redeployment.
Compact and lightweight design
The slim and lightweight unit helps preserve cobot payload and reach, making it ideal for smaller cobots and space-constrained workcells.
Modular gripping flexibility
piCOBOT® Electric can be combined with Piab’s wide range of suction cups, gripper arms and accessories. The modular concept allows users to configure the tool for handling boxes, trays, plastic and metal parts, as well as various packaged goods.
