Senior Production Engineer, Täby, Sweden

In this role, you will work closely with R&D as well as with our global supply units (located in Sweden, Germany, Singapore, China, USA) during new product introduction/ industrialization as well as during the product maintenance phase. You will also work independently with external suppliers in developing equipment, fixtures, testers and tools.

The Senior Production Engineer will report to the Industrialization Manager and is part of the Global Operations team. The position is located at Piab’s head office in Täby.

What you will do

• Develop and implement a global production engineering strategy for the Piab Group, with scalability, cost and quality as the main focus areas.
• Be a part of the New Product Development projects (NPI), developing production tools, production test equipment, methods and work instructions, with a high focus on built in quality control and mistake-proofing (Poka Yoke).
• Drive process improvement within the production engineering function.
• Provide support to the supply units when upgrading, trouble shooting and maintaining production equipment.
• Lead and drive coordination between the supply units regarding production engineering questions.
• Drive DFA and process FMEA-analysis of new products, in close cooperation with R&D, Sourcing and Production.
• Make sure that tools, methords and developments within the production engineering area are up-to-date.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

• Higher degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of work experience in production engineering, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
• Fluency in English, oral and written
• Strong technical skills
• Ability to develop and implement plans in a global, cross-functional environment
• Ability and willingness to shift between operational hands-on tasks and more strategic thinking
• Ability to deliver results with quality on time
• Experience from working in a global organization is merit
• Experience from working with test environment using Python Software is merit
• Documented training in lean tools and methods is merit
