Piab now offers specialized vacuum production equipment to automotive makers worldwide.
Taby, Sweden – Through an extended and dedicated sales network, Piab is going global with its market leading range of vacuum generation products for the automotive industry. Car manufacturers in the US and Northern Europe have benefitted from Piab’s specialized vacuum equipment for many years, but now products are being rolled out globally through the company’s extensive sales network, recently extended to offer services tailored for the automotive industry. Vacuum products of the highest standard that meet the automotive manufacturers’ needs for advanced, standardized, yet flexible, durable, and efficient production equipment will be readily available in all corners of the world.
Piab’s range of vacuum products for the automotive market include ultra-lightweight vacuum generators, ideal for use in decentralized, fast-handling robotics systems. The company’s recently introduced, decentralized generic vacuum generator piSTAMP is tailor-made for automotive press shop automation, offering easy retrofitting in tooling systems, and the latest configurable platform for decentralized vacuum generation, piINLINE®plus, features a unique and integrated automatic release mechanism. Made in a lightweight and extra durable material, the generators utilize Piab’s COAX® technology, ensuring low air consumption, excellent suction capacity, and fast evacuation.
For a more centralized approach, Piab’s premium all-in-one vacuum generator platform, the piCOMPACT®23, offers a comprehensive set of added features, such as the unique Amplified Blow-Off, in which an integrated and patented valve ensures more efficient, powerful and energy-saving blow-off, enabling faster and more reliable production cycles. The vacuum generator is also available with the generic IO-Link for smart sensor and actuator communication, meeting the requirements of smart Industry 4.0 factories that implement the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
A broad selection of specialized suction cups will provide optimal grip on potentially oily automotive parts. The DURAFLEX® family of friction cups meets emerging market requirements, with its dedicated cups for safe sheet metal handling as well as for maximum hold on parts with a concave or convex surface. Their superior grip enables an increased number of strokes per minute in stamping, cutting, bending, and punching machines, making for more cost-effective and productive press shops. Combining the properties of polyurethane with those of rubber, the friction cups display exceptional elastic memory and press oil resistance, enabling them to keep their shape and remain in good working order.
In addition, Piab’s automotive range includes a multitude of durable accessories including many different fittings meeting various standards, advanced plastic fittings of reduced weight, easily adjustable end-of-arm tools, level compensators, mounting brackets and vacuum sensors, all now available through the company’s global sales channels.
Established in 1951, Piab designs innovative vacuum solutions that improve the energy-efficiency, productivity, and working environments of vacuum users around the world. As a reliable partner to many of the world's largest manufacturers, Piab develops and manufactures a complete line of vacuum pumps, vacuum accessories, vacuum conveyors and suction cups for a variety of automated material handling and factory automation processes. Piab utilizes COAX®, a completely new dimension in vacuum technology, in many of its original products and solutions. COAX® cartridges are smaller, more energy efficient and more reliable than conventional ejectors, and can be integrated directly into machinery. This allows for the design of a flexible, modular vacuum system. Piab’s latest acquisition is Kenos vacuum gripping systems. Piab is a worldwide organization with subsidiaries and distributors in almost 70 countries. Its headquarters are in Sweden.
