Pharmaceutical – C conveyors

The pharmaceutical industry has a very high demand for cleanliness as well as for health and safety. Since many of the different powders produced in the pharmaceutical industry are hazardous or considered being a safety risk, Piab designed its range of conveyors to meet these special demands. Piab conveyors work with an enclosed vacuum system, ensuring that no powder leaks out to the surrounding atmosphere. The equipment is also ATEX Dust compliant. Typical applications for the pharmaceutical industry are reactor filling, feeding tablet presses and conveying the final product (tablet or powder) to the packaging line.

Configuration examples

With the modular vacuum conveyor you can adjust your conveyor according to your needs and demands. The modular conveyor has a hygienic design. It is made of ASTM 316L steel and the surface on the modules is at least Ra 0.8. There are several types of filters and sealings to optimise the configuration. Different control systems can be ...

Modules

To create a complete conveyor Piab offers a wide range of different modules to be assembled to a complete vacuum conveyor.

Feeding point

It is important to optimise the feeding point (where the product is conveyed from) for the conveying system to assure maximum capacity and safe transport. There are several types of feeding points:

Piping

To complete the conveying system Piab offers stainless steel pipe bends, hoses of food grade, pipe couplings, different types of pipe fittings, pipeline emptying units, injection valves, pinch valves and many other solutions.

Control units

There are several ways to control the vacuum conveyor. All of the control units are fully pneumatic with timers. It is also possible to add a level detector and other options to the control unit.
